Canadian actor Ennis Esmer returns to lend his support as the voice of I Don’t Flush 2016.

Known for his work in numerous films and television programs such as Red Oaks and The Listener, Ennis Esmer was one of the many public figures to lend support to our initial I Don’t Flush campaign targeting waste pharmaceuticals. For the 2016 campaign, Ennis returns as the narrator of the newest public service announcements, which remind Canadians that personal care products should not be flushed down the toilets.

We are grateful for Ennis’ continued support and dedication to the I Don’t Flush campaign and for constantly reminding us all:

“There are only 3 things you should flush! Number 1: Number 1! Number 2: Number 2! Number 3: Toilet paper!”

Thank you for making us laugh and showing us the way Ennis!

The I Don’t Flush campaign was proud to win two awards during the inaugural Interactive Knowledge Exchange (IKE) session held during The Water Environment Federation’s WEFTEC 2015.

Over the length of the conference held in Chicago, 28 videos were vying for top prize, ranging in categories from technical and student-developed, to utility management and public outreach. IKE presenters were selected through a rigorous “IKEstract” process, similar to that used for the selection of papers at the conference.

At WEFTEC, IKEs competed for the audience’s attention to receive the Viewer’s Choice Award. We were so pleased to have been selected as “Best Overall” as well as “Viewer’s Choice” winner for this fun and cheeky campaign!

Check out the video here!

The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) and The Clean Water Foundation (CWF) – in conjunction with York Region, the Region of Peel and the Health Product Stewardship Association – launched the ‘I don’t flush’ public awareness campaign on June 7 at the Windfall Ecology Festival in Newmarket. To celebrate the launch, OCWA and CWF were joined by TVO’s The Water Brothers who snapped photos with festival attendees throughout the day.

This campaign is based on the already established A Prescription for Clean Water program that encourages Ontarians to return unwanted and unused pharmaceuticals back to the pharmacies where they can be properly disposed of.
